LazyClip is made by OMCL India Private Limited (“we”). This page says what the app keeps, what it sends, and what this website stores. The short version: what you copy stays on your computers, and we never see it.
What you copy
- Your history (text, links, colours, pictures and files you copy) and your settings are kept on your own computer, in LazyClip’s data folder. Nothing you copy is sent to us.
- Passwords copied from password managers, and anything an app marks as concealed, are skipped and never saved.
- If you turn on sync, your computers send your history to each other directly, on your network or over your VPN, encrypted with a key only they have.
- LazyClip’s logs stay on your computer and never contain what you copied. You only share them if you choose to send them to us.
What the app sends
- Update checks. Once a day, LazyClip asks api.lazyclip.app whether there’s a new version, and what the oldest supported version is. The request says which version and platform it is; we count checks per day, version and platform. Nothing in it identifies you or your computer.
- Link previews (a setting, on by default). When you copy a link, LazyClip fetches that page from its public website to show its title and picture, as a browser would. It never fetches addresses on your own network.
This website
- Signing up for news. We keep your email address, when you signed up, and whether you signed up from a Mac, Windows or something else. We use it only to send emails about LazyClip, a few times a year. Every email has a link that deletes your address.
- Invites. Opening an invite link stores one cookie,
lazyclip_invite, so your browser can download while downloads are invite-only. It lasts a year and does nothing else. We note when an invite is first used to download. - Downloads are counted per day, platform and version, not per person.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking. The site and the api run on Cloudflare, which handles each request (including its IP address) to serve it and to keep signups from being flooded; we don’t keep IP addresses.
Your choices
Unsubscribe with the link in any email, or write tohello@lazyclip.app and we’ll delete what we hold about you. Uninstalling LazyClip and deleting its data folder removes your history from that computer.
Changes
If this changes, we’ll update this page and its date, and tell people on the list about anything that matters.
